"Well, I have now been with WebOnce for over 6 months. While not originally a WebOnce client, the hosting company I was dealing with was purchased by WebOnce. While I was initially doubtful of being pushed to a new company, any misgivings were quickly taken care of by Jacob, the WebOnce admin.

My sites need some very specific settings, and I myself am a total idiot at any of the technical sides, but Jacob was able to understand what my account needed, and keep me up and running without a problem during the move.

After spending months talking with Jacob via the live chat support, I quickly came to realise that there was rarely a time when I needed ACTUAL support help. The majority of times I asked for help had nothing to do with my hosting, and yet Jacob was more than willing to step in and help out with debugging a script, or setting up whatever nifty new toy I was entranced with.

During my 6 months at Webonce, my multiple site account has rarely had downtime. (and twice that was caused by me being stupid) I doubt my sites were down for more than a few minutes a couple of times during the last 6 months. When there was some a downtime, Jacob was right there, able to tell me to shut up, he's working on it. Er, I mean, explain the problem, and tell me when it would be fixed.

Now, i don;t get into development of applications or websites at all, but I have also talked to quite a few of his customers who do. I have even contracted with them for work several times. And not one has been able to complain about WebOnce lacking in any way any of the tools or settings they need to do their work.

The only thing I do not use WebOnce for is domain registration, but that is because I prefer to keep registrations seperate from hosting.

On a scale of 1 to 10 I would definitely give Jacob at WebOnce a 9.5."

"My domain was up for renewal with GoDaddy on April 18th 2006 and I applied to transfer it, on the 10th, to WebOnce Technologies, the company which provides web hosting services for Blunt and a 40 dot US. What took place over the next 21 days should never happen when dealing with a professional, well organized company.

I know the owners of WebOnce fairly well and they bend over backwards to make sure everything runs smoothly for thier customers. When I let them know I intended to transfer bluntanda40.us to them, they took over the process and I didn't even have to fill out a request. They asked me for the verification code, which GoDaddy reluctantly supplied after about a half hour of argument, and put the transfer through. I recieved a confirmation letter from the .us registry with a link to follow in order to allow the transfer. I followed this link and found out that the transfer could take up to 5 business days. Not including the 10th, which was a Monday, the transfer should have completed by the 15th, three whole days before the expiration of the domain. On the 18th, low and behold, bluntanda40.us is down, the transfer didn't go through, GoDaddy refused it. I call WebOnce immediately and had them resubmit the transfer. Everything happened same as before, except that this time GoDaddy didn't refuse the transfer, they simply didn't accept it until the 28th, so it didn't complete until the 1st of May.

Is this what they consider professional conduct? Extending what should be, by all accounts, a five day process so that it takes two attempts and three weeks? If so, I find it quite likely that they only reason they stay in business is their low prices.

Then again, you get what you pay for.
